The series promotes nonpartisan debate on international relations and global affairs in the interests of advancing citizenship and cultural exchange. The series is supported by The Scottish Government and Scottish Council on Global Affairs.
Martin Griffiths is a British diplomat who served as the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator at the United Nations from May 2021 until June 2024. At this year’s lecture, Griffiths will address the current conflict crisis and humanitarian diplomacy. He will be introduced by Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney MSP.”
