How is the war in Ukraine affecting the post-Yugoslav space? This is a region that has experienced its own wars in the 1990s, and is now interpreting the developments in Ukraine through the collective and personal memories of those prior conflicts.

In this talk, Professor Dejan Jović (University of Zagreb) will examine how the domestic actors in the Western Balkans interpret the role of Russia and the West in their region; how the war has influenced their policies towards national minorities and their neighbours; and what they fear and hope for as they contemplate the potential collapse of the international order in Europe.”
